Katatonia - Brave Murder Day (1996 / Re-released 2006) Classic Album

Genre : Melodic Black Doom Death
Country : Sweden

This is the second album of the band. The style of this work is hard to classify, because mix Melodic Metal with Doom and Black influences. Their composition is perfect with amazing riffs and suffocating atmospheres. The melodies evoke despair, depression, anguish and agony. The vocals performance is perfect, with Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) on guttural vocals and Jonas Renske on clean vocals.

For my "Brave Murder Day" is the best Katatonia's album. This album represents one of Metal's greatest masterpieces!

This album originally went to the pressing plant completely unmastered, in 1996. Hence the low output of audio and lack of various EQ/FX enhancements. It was finally mastered for the first time in 2006, when Peaceville Records re-released the album as a digipak with the "Sounds of Decay" EP as bonus track.
